Warrior Riverkeeper, Inc.
Black Warrior Riverkeeper is the first and only
citizen-based
organization dedicated to defending all 6,276 square
miles of OUR watershed. The Riverkeeper keeps
polluters in line by patrolling the watershed,
analyzing permits, and working with citizens, in
addition to various other strategies.
Alabama Environmental
Council
The Alabama
Environmental Council (AEC), is a 501 c-3
educational and grassroots advocacy organization
dedicated to the preservation and protection of
Alabama’s natural environment and health. Since its
inception, AEC has worked to build environmental
awareness, promote the wise management of our
natural resources, and ensure the protection of
Alabama’s diverse natural heritage. Founded in 1967,
AEC has been instrumental in the creation of
innovative environmental projects that have had
far-reaching impacts on the environment and
communities throughout Alabama for over thirty-seven
years.

Granted, it's very hot in the summer, but the
beautiful hotels and resorts offer great rates
during this time. The pools are refreshing,
the restaurants are unbelievable, and the scenery is
amazing.

Grayton Beach
Grayton Beach is a
small, historic beach village on the Florida
Panhandle Gulf coast halfway between Destin and
Panama City. Grayton Beach is in the center of a
20-mile long stretch of spectacular beaches, with
rugged dune systems, and freshwater lakes.

The Ocoee River
The Toccoa River and
Ocoee River are actually a single river that flows
northwestward through the southern Appalachian
Mountains of the southeastern United States. It is
called the Toccoa in Georgia, until it reaches the
twin cities of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill,
Tennessee. The remainder is called the Ocoee through
Tennessee, known for its whitewater rafting, and
host to whitewater slalom events during the
Centennial 1996 Summer Olympics held primarily in
Atlanta, about 100 miles (160 km) to the south. (source:
